David Merriby
Chief Executive Officer, Koho Bank. David Merriby is the CEO of the future Koho Bank. David joined Koho in early 2026 as Chief Risk and Compliance Officer after a career in both the private and public sectors. Prior to joining Koho, David was Chief Compliance Officer at Amex Bank of Canada. His expertise was also leveraged in several international Compliance initiatives. Prior to that David was Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Risk Officer and Corporate Secretary for Capital One Bank Canada. David also held other key positions such as Head of the Legal Group, Chief Privacy Officer and Ombudsman. David also occupied various positions in the federal government at the Department of Finance and the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada. David co-chairs the Small and Medium Bank Forum (SMBF) and has keen interest in the intersection of public policy and the financial industry.
