Ryan Gariepy
Vice President, Rockwell Frontier Labs. Ryan Gariepy is the founding Vice President of Rockwell Frontier Labs, which serves as the nucleus of Rockwell's exploratory R&D efforts. He was one of the founders of Clearpath Robotics in 2009 and OTTO Motors in 2015, was instrumental in Rockwell Automation's acquisition of the companies in 2023, and established the Rockwell Robotics Center of Excellence in 2025. Ryan is a board member of Open Robotics, co-founder of ROSCon, co-founder and chair of the Canadian Robotics Council, and serves on the IEEE RAS Industrial Advisory Board. Ryan also holds over 100 granted and pending patents in the field of autonomous systems, is a recipient of the IEEE/IFR Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Robotics and Automation Award, and is a leading angel investor in robotics companies worldwide. Ryan holds a B.A.Sc. in Mechatronics Engineering and an M.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
