Sumit Bhatia
Founder, Board Chair, Centre for Designing Change. Sumit Bhatia is the Executive Director of Westcliff University Canada and Co-Founder and Board Chair of the Centre for Designing Change (CDC). A senior executive, entrepreneur and ecosystem builder, he brings more than two decades of experience spanning emerging technologies, public policy, higher education and venture building. His work sits at the intersection of technology, policy and strategic foresight, drawing on systems thinking to explore how technological change reshapes industries, institutions and society. His areas of focus include artificial intelligence, robotics and Physical AI, cybersecurity and technology governance. He has also co-led a national public policy think tank focused on privacy and cybersecurity, advancing dialogue on technology policy and its broader societal implications. Sumit has built and led startup accelerators, supported venture growth and helped strengthen innovation ecosystems. An active investor and advisor to emerging companies, he works across industry, academia, government and entrepreneurship to translate technological change into practical strategies, stronger institutions and lasting economic and societal impact.
